Speed Painting: Bicycle Zombie Girl

We were prepping for Halloween in 2011 in a big way with a “spooky” Speed Painting of the “bicycle girl” zombie from AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and the web series – “The Walking Dead: Torn Apart.” This show has proven that the use of one’s nose can be both a blessing and a curse in the zombie apocalypse.

Speed Painting: Lord Voldemort

I made Lord Voldemort appear without having to inflict even a paper-cut on anybody. This speed painting is a stylized portrait of “Lord Voldemort” from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2010). Now if only I could only make my hair reappear…

Total “real” time: 2 hr. 30 min.
Video length: 3 min. 29 sec.

Don’t give this guy the high-hat. Another post that comes from the “Coen”-side of my brain. This speed painting is a stylized portrait of Jon Polito’s “Johnny Caspar” from Miller’s Crossing (1990).

Total “real” time (shown in upper right): 2 hrs. 36 min.
Video length: 2 min. 23 sec.

Speed Painting: Rooster Cogburn

As an extended feature of our “Q” Sketch Blog, we decided to get inspired by artists like Court Jones and set up our own Speed Painting video series. The subject matter and tools will change, but the task will always be the same; original art created from start to finish in less than a few hours. This speed painting is a stylized portrait of Jeff Bridges’ “Rooster Cogburn” from True Grit (2010).

Total “real” time: 2 hrs. 29 min.
Video length: 2 min. 39 sec.
